News Nation Production Assistant (Weekend 4p-7p)

Job Summary:

The Production Assistant will support pre‑production and production tasks on Chicago‑based weekend programming, working closely with producers, associate producers, and the production team to create content for hosts and guests.

• Assist in all daily show procedures, supporting production teams through all stages of production.
• Research host and producer topics, compiling data for shows.
• Collaborate with producers and associate producers to edit video, prepare graphics, and draft scripts.
• Assist in coordinating guests who appear on air.
• Perform administrative tasks for anchors, executive producers, and senior producers.

• Minimum 6 months of TV or streaming experience, including internships in a news or talk‑show environment.
• Video editing experience.
• Knowledge of ENPS or INews preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Self‑starter initiative, proactively seeking tasks and growth opportunities.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

• Excellent knowledge of current events and politics.
• Ability to work under deadline pressure.
• Ability to handle multiple projects with attention to detail.
• Thrives in a collaborative work environment.

$16.00 - $24.00 per hour (based on experience).
