All open roles## The roleA Producer is equal parts journalist, engagement lead and AI-native. You help launch new sites and you decide what the tools draft becomes, and what deserves to be published.## What you will do
* ** Be the human in the loop.
** Review and refine what the tools draft before anything goes live, and catch errors, weak framing, or anything that feels off.
* ** Make the editorial call.
** Decide what runs, under deadline, and kill what does not hold up.
* ** Find what is missing.
** Spot the stories the system did not catch, add the context and colour that make coverage useful, and push for better reporting.
* ** Answer for the work.
** Handle corrections and reader mail yourself.## Who we are looking for
* A journalist, or a recent graduate, who wants to build something new.
* Strong editorial instincts: you know what is newsworthy and what is not.
* A stickler for detail and accuracy, with a copy editor's eye.
* You understand how coverage travels and what readers actually pick up.
* You care about local news and community storytelling.
* You move quickly and you like that the work is still changing shape.## What you will get better at Local news is being rebuilt right now, and the people doing it are deciding what it becomes. Our Producers take on real responsibility: choosing what a community learns about itself, holding the standards that make a story trustworthy, and answering to readers for what we publish.

You will learn tools most newsrooms are still arguing about, and you will use them in service of something old-fashioned: telling people what they need to know about where they live.

You do not need experience with AI tools. You need news judgment. The tooling is learnable in a week and we will teach it.##
