Job Description

The Jr. Interior Designer / CAD + Revit Technician supports the creation of accurate, coordinated, and visually clear technical drawings for multi‑family residential and mixed‑use developments across North America. The role has a strong foundation in design documentation, familiarity with both AutoCAD and Revit, and a collaborative, problem‑solving mindset. It works closely with external architects, designers, and internal development and construction teams to ensure documentation aligns with internal standards, Onni’s expectations, and North American building codes.

What You Will Do Drawing Production & Drafting
  • Produce precise technical drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and details using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Develop and update full sets of working drawings and construction documentation for interiors and architectural coordination.
  • Translate design concepts and sketches into accurate digital documentation.
  • Prepare as‑built drawings from field measurements and redlines.
  • Maintain consistency in line weights, layers, annotations, and graphic standards.
  • Contribute to 3D models, renderings, and coordination of MEP components as required.
Project Coordination
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and internal designers to maintain drawing accuracy across disciplines.
  • Integrate information from structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing consultants.
  • Integrate information from Millwork and FFE shop drawings.
  • Proactively identify and resolve drawing inconsistencies or missing information.
  • Assist in assembling, checking, and issuing drawing packages on schedule.
Quality Control & Standards
  • Follow and contribute to evolving CAD / BIM standards and workflows.
  • Maintain organized digital file structures, naming conventions, and drawing logs.
  • Conduct self‑checks to ensure quality and alignment with project standards.
  • Participate in internal design and coordination reviews.
Technical Support & Design Integration
  • Maintain and update title blocks, templates, and standard libraries.
  • Support colleagues using AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software.
  • Assist with rendering workflows, visualization, and interior detailing across multiple platforms.
What You Bring
  • Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, or BIM / Digital Drafting Technologies.
  • 1–3 years of experience in interior design, architecture, or construction documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (2D required; 3D an asset) and familiar with Revit / BIM Modeling.
  • Experience with Sketch Up, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools preferred.
  • Solid understanding of drafting conventions, construction documentation, and building systems.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, permitting, and construction processes.
  • Organized, reliable, and self‑motivated, with strong time‑management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Clear, professional communicator with strong collaboration skills.
  • Proactive and resourceful problem‑solver.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Exposure to multi‑family residential, commercial, or hospitality projects preferred.
  • Knowledge of millwork, kitchen, or detailed interior documentation is considered an asset.
