This position works closely with design, engineering, procurement, factory production, and site operations to ensure drawing packages reflect approved requirements and practical construction methods. The ideal candidate combines strong drafting skills with an understanding of residential construction and a hands‑on approach to resolving production issues.

Requirements Production Drawings and Documentation
  • Prepare and maintain shop drawings, assembly drawings, sections, details, and layouts for modular home production.
  • Develop drawings for framing, floor and roof assemblies, wall panels, MEP coordination, and finish components.
  • Translate approved plans and engineering requirements into dimensions, details, and instructions that production teams can follow.
  • Incorporate material specifications, connection details, tolerances, and installation requirements provided by the responsible design professionals.
  • Prepare drawing-based material lists, cut lists, and quantity takeoffs to support procurement and production planning.
Design and Production Coordination
  • Review architectural, structural, and MEP documents for inconsistencies, missing information, and coordination conflicts.
  • Communicate drawing questions and proposed solutions to the appropriate architect, engineer, or internal lead.
  • Coordinate with production teams to confirm that details support safe, efficient, and repeatable assembly.
  • Support coordination of module connections, transport‑related details, and work completed after modules are set.
  • Participate in production meetings and drawing reviews to align documentation with manufacturing schedules.
Production Support and Continuous Improvement
  • Visit the factory floor to understand construction methods, verify dimensions, and investigate drawing‑related questions.
  • Help resolve production issues by preparing clarifications and revisions following the required review and approval process.
  • Capture feedback from manufacturing and site teams to improve drawing clarity and reduce recurring errors.
  • Assist in developing standard details, drawing templates, component libraries, and drafting procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce material waste, rework, and unnecessary assembly steps through improved documentation.
Drawing Quality and Revision Control
  • Check drawings for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and constructability before submission for approval.
  • Maintain organized drawing files, revision histories, and documentation.
  • Follow established drawing review, approval, and release procedures.
  • Coordinate the distribution of current approved drawings and removal of superseded versions from active use.
  • Maintain as‑built documentation based on verified changes and approved field or production information.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent practical experience in drafting, architectural technology, engineering technology, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of drafting experience in residential construction, manufacturing, fabrication, or a related environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable drafting and modeling software.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, structural drawings, specifications, and MEP layouts.
  • Working knowledge of residential construction materials, framing methods, and assembly sequences.
  • Experience preparing detailed drawings with accurate dimensions, sections, and construction details.
