Overview
Physician - Neurological Sciences – Neuro-geneticist, Chicago (Downtown) – 21430. Movement Disorders – Neuro-geneticist – Clinical Faculty at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. This full-time position is predominantly clinical with opportunities for research collaboration and educational initiatives.
Responsibilities- Join nine full-time Movement Disorders specialists, four neuropsychologists, two psychiatrists, four neurologist fellows, one full-time genetic counselor, a physician-assistant and an advanced practice nurse on the downtown campus to support our mission focused on Patient Care, Research and Education.
- Participate in outpatient clinics and multi-disciplinary programs, such as the Rush Center for Genomic Medicine (RCOG), a collaborative center with the Department of Pediatrics.
- Support an outpatient program with clinic hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, seeing approximately 8,500 adult and pediatric patients annually.
- Eligible for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher at Rush Medical College; faculty rank will be commensurate with experience.
- Primary focus on clinical work with opportunities for research collaboration and educational initiatives.
- Rush Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program is a designated Center of Excellence and the longest-running movement disorder program in Chicagoland.
- Inpatient movement disorder consult service is staffed by neurologists and run by movement disorder fellows.
- Fellows, students, residents, and videography are integral parts of the program.
- Opportunities for involvement in clinical research, leadership within the Rush Center for Genomic Medicine (RCOG), neuro-genetics program building, and supervision of residents and fellows are available.
- MD degree; licensed in the State of Illinois.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology; valid IL medical license or ability to obtain licensure.
- Strong commitment to patient care, resident education, clinical medicine, and research.

Pay range: $213,000 – $290,000. Rush offers competitive total compensation including base pay, benefits, and incentive programs. Opportunities for increased compensation based on productivity targets. Comprehensive benefits package.
