Position SummaryThe University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible pediatric pulmonologist to serve as Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Director in the Department of Pediatrics' Pulmonology/Sleep Division. The CF center is accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and is the largest in central Illinois. Candidates will lead a dedicated team, contribute to research and quality improvement projects, teach medical students and residents, and provide clinical services to outpatients and inpatients at OSF Health Care Children's Hospital of Illinois.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Provide care, diagnostic and treatment services to children with cystic fibrosis and other pulmonary conditions, including performing flexible bronchoscopies and interpreting pulmonary function testing when clinically indicated.
- Contribute to educational programs and activities for medical students and residents in cystic fibrosis and pediatric pulmonology.
- Work collaboratively with the Adult CF Medical Director and Division Head of Pulmonology/Sleep Medicine.
- Attend the annual CF conference.
- Maintain CF center accreditation requirements.
- Collaborate with nursing and other non‑physician staff to develop interdisciplinary plans to improve clinic function.
- Develop, revise, and implement a strategic plan addressing long‑term teaching and patient care needs of the clinic.
- Reinforce performance expectations of residents and attendings.
- Develop and implement evaluations of residents and attendings.
- Provide administrative and fiscal management for the clinic (budgeting, formulary review, stakeholder meetings).
- Design and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinic function and patient care.
- MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
- Eligible for medical licensure in Illinois.
- Board certified in Pediatrics.
- Board certified in Pediatric Pulmonology.
- Completion of 3 years of pediatric residency and 3 years of pediatric pulmonology fellowship.
- Leadership experience.
- Pediatric sleep medicine experience.
