Position PurposePractice as a family medicine physician at the Hospital, in the Hospital satellite medical offices and the Hospital site for the Hospitalist Service call coverage.
Essential Functions- Examine patients for symptoms or physical information.
- Order or execute various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient’s condition.
- Analyze reports and findings of tests and examinations, and diagnose condition of patient.
- Administer or prescribe treatments.
- Determine and prescribe medication, dosage, and schedule given the patient’s condition and allergies.
- Perform surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency.
- Refer patients to primary care physicians or medical specialists for consultant services when necessary for patient’s well‑being.
- Document the patient’s visit including medical history, physical exam, diagnoses, and plan of action.
- Perform both essential and marginal job functions in a safe manner as identified by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective department while adhering to the Hospital’s confidentiality norms and standards.
- Actively and consistently demonstrate the core values of Saint Anthony Hospital in all interactions with others.
- Assume responsibility for knowing and maintaining established hospital and departmental objectives, policies/procedures including general sanitation, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Participate in performance activities including problem identification, data collection, solution selection, implementation and evaluation; also assist in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies as appropriate.
- Participate in staff meetings and other in‑services, meetings or committees as required.
- Doctoral degree (M.D., D.O.) or equivalent.
- Board‑certified or board‑eligible by the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
- Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and manage work‑related stress.
