Neonatology – Clinical Faculty/Physician Rush University Medical Center

Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, invites applications for the position of full-time academic Neonatologist to join our faculty as a Physician Educator.

The attending neonatologist will work with a team to deliver the highest level of care for critically ill infants, exemplifying the Rush mission, vision and values and acting in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

• The Renée Schine Crown Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a Level 3, 72‑bed single‑roomed state‑of‑the‑art unit.
• We care for critically ill infants born at Rush and/or transferred in from network hospitals.
• Our patient mix ranges from extremely preterm infants to those with complex surgical needs.
• Our NICU has a robust multidisciplinary Quality Improvement (QI) program led by a neonatologist with expertise and certification in QI, achieving consistent excellent outcomes in major neonatal morbidities within the Vermont Oxford Network.
• The Division partners with Obstetrics and Pediatric subspecialists to provide prenatal care and consultation through our multidisciplinary Fetal‑Neonatal Medicine Center.
• Our productive NICU Human Milk research team conducts clinical and translational research on mother’s own milk, donor milk, lactation physiology, and related outcomes.

• In‑hospital clinical care during daytime, overnight and/or on weekends/holidays, with shifts of 10‑hr, 16‑hr, 18‑hr and 26‑hr in length at Rush University Medical Center and possibly Rush Copley Medical Center.
• Clinical care responsibilities: delivery room attendance and infant resuscitation, antenatal and pediatric consultations, NICU care delivery, and supervision of neonatal transports.
• Educational responsibilities: teaching medical students, residents, nurse practitioner students, fellows, APPs and trainees, developing clinical care plans and performing procedures.
• Clinical responsibilities may also include outpatient services in the Fetal‑Neonatal Medicine Center or Neonatal High‑Risk Follow‑Up Clinic.
• Participation in NICU committees and development of clinical guidelines.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal‑Perinatal Medicine and qualified for a faculty appointment in Rush Medical College.

Rush offers competitive total compensation, including base pay, benefits, and incentive programs. The pay range for this full‑time, 1.0 FTE role is $280,000 - $325,000
