- Quaternary Care NICU: 64-bed unit handling approximately 700 ICU admissions and supporting over 2,300 deliveries annually.
- Level IV NICU:
Provides complex neonatal care, including ECMO, high-frequency ventilation, therapeutic hyperthermia, and cardiac/neonatal surgical support. - Collaborative Environment:
Neonatologists work alongside Advanced Practice Nurses, Neonatal-Perinatal Fellows, and Resident teams. - Education Focus:
Emphasis on teaching students, faculty, and trainees (Pediatric, Medicine-Pediatric, and Neonatology Fellows). - Children's Hospital Neonatal Consortium (CHNC):
Active participation in outcome‑based research, clinical trials, and quality improvement projects.
We are seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible Neonatologist to join a full‑time teaching and clinical role within the Department of Pediatrics. The candidate will provide acute and ongoing consultative care in a busy 64‑bed Level IV NICU and engage in education, research, and service activities.
Duties & Responsibilities- Provide acute and ongoing consultative care to neonatal patients in the hospital and outpatient settings.
- Participate in undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs of the Department of Pediatrics.
- Engage in collaborative research and scholarly quality improvement activities within the Neonatology Division and the broader Pediatrics Department.
- Perform other duties of a university faculty member, including committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and mentoring.
- MD/DO or equivalent degree.
- Completed 3 years of residency and 3 years of neonatal‑perinatal fellowship accredited by ACGME.
- Board certification in Pediatrics required; board‑certified or board‑eligible in Neonatology preferred.
- Eligibility for licensure in Illinois.
- Enthusiasm for clinical care and teaching in an academic setting.
