Job SummaryThe Neurology Physician will have provide services necessary to perform onsite and telephonic Neurology Physician Services to eligible beneficiaries of the Captain James
A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (hereinafter referred to as FHCC). The Contractor’s physicians’ care shall cover the range of Neurology services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art health care medical treatment facility. Neurology Physicians are required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent care to all individuals
- Training with Botox and experience in reading EEGs is preferred. is preferred.
- Shall involve the patient in care decisions by keeping him/her fully informed about the diagnosis, plan of care, treatment goals, risks, benefits of proposed treatments and prognosis. Shared decision making shall be pursued. Care provided will respect and integrate the patient's beliefs, values, cultural influences and special needs.
- Provide consultations and follow-ups in a timeframe as required by the patient’s medical condition.
- Responsible for follow-up and communicating test results ordered by provider.
- Perform rounds in the ICU, inpatient units, and emergency department when requested.
- Perform duties including, but not limited to attending clinic, E-Consults and procedures and services congruent with the respective provider’s credentials and abilities.
- Annotate the patients medical record immediately after face-to-face consultation. All resident consultations and follow-ups will be documented with an appropriate attending note. To meet national guidelines, consults must be co-signed by the attending physician within 24 hours of seeing the patient. Not doing so results in the record being out of compliance with VHA policy regarding consultations.
- Complete all medical records noted to be incomplete within 10 days after notification.
- Correctly complete all outpatient encounter forms on the day of the patient’s visit to the clinic and/or services rendered.
- Personnel assigned by the contractor to perform the services covered by this task order shall have a full and unrestricted license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
- Should have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by a provider recognized by the American Heart Association
- Must have a Real
- Must be Board Certified by the American Bard of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as have an active license
- Minimum of 1 year of experience is required

- Telephonic on-call coverage:
Coverage will be on a rotation basis and may be subject to callback. - Weeknights
- Monday from 4:30 p.m. to Friday at 8:00 a.m. - Weekends
- Friday from 4:30 p.m. to Monday at 8:00 a.m. - Holidays - 24 hours starting at 8:00 a.m. on the holiday and ending at 8:00 a.m. the next day. This shall ensure telephonic coverage Rotation Holidays (24/hrs) & weekends Friday (4:30 p.m.
- Monday 8:00 a.m.).
- This is a 1099 position
