Assistant Director, Enrollment Management – University of Chicago
SummaryThe Assistant Director of Enrollment Management will work with the MS in Applied Data Science (MS‑ADS) program to support daily operations, recruitment, and strategic marketing. The role reports to the MS‑ADS Director of Enrollment Management and Analytics and collaborates with central University offices.
Responsibilities- Lead recruitment and evaluation of applicants, reading applications and summarizing evaluations independently.
- Design plans to increase brand awareness for prospective student populations.
- Lead special projects, including strategic input on marketing materials.
- Develop relationships with institutions regionally and nationally to support program growth.
- Establish recruitment goals and report on progress in partnership with program leadership.
- Analyze prospect and student data to identify profile segments and coordinate marketing strategies.
- Benchmark competitive programs and share best practices with the MS‑ADS team.
- Manage event programming such as admissions events, career treks, and regional outreach.
- Deliver public presentations at information sessions and special events.
- Act as liaison between program staff and prospective students.
- Plan and attend yield events, information sessions, and graduate fairs.
- Guide prospects through the funnel, from inquiry to enrollment.
- Provide support for student matriculation and onboarding with Student Services.
- Expand outreach messaging via alumni clubs and special events, maintaining updated alumni contact records.
- Perform related work as needed.
- Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. - Preferred:
Master’s degree in a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in enrollment management or a related discipline.
- Background working in higher education or related field.
- Experience working with graduate and/or online degree programs.
- Previous experience with international students.
- None specified.
- Proficient with marketing and social media vehicles for prospective students.
- Proficient in using Slate, Destiny, Salesforce, or other CRM systems.
- Basic research skills for analyzing and synthesizing information.
- Foundational proficiency in Slate, Excel, Click Up, and other project management software.
- Project and Program Management – lead complex projects, manage ambiguity, and maintain strong prioritization.
- Graduate Education and Marketing – experience in graduate programs, marketing/advertising, and use of AI tools.
- Communication and Relationship Building – strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Leadership and Integrity – inclusive, customer‑service–oriented leader with high professional integrity.
- Strategic and Future‑Oriented – success in developing and executing new ideas with enthusiasm.
