Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated K–2 Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher in Cook County, IL for leave of absence coverage from October 27, 2025, to May 28, 2026. This role is ideal for educators passionate about providing individualized support and fostering inclusive learning environments for young students with diverse needs.

$45.00/hr - $55.00/hr

• Location: Cook County, IL (in-person)
• Schedule: Full-time, School Hours
• Coverage: October 27, 2025 – May 28, 2026

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in a cross-categorical setting.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to adapt lessons and provide differentiated instruction.
• Monitor and document student progress, using data to guide instructional decisions.
• Support students in academic, behavioral, and social-emotional skill development.
• Maintain regular communication with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.

• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement.
• Experience teaching or supporting students in a K–2 cross-categorical or resource classroom.
• Strong knowledge of individualized instruction, differentiated learning strategies, and behavior management techniques.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
