We invite applications for a Spring 2025 full‑time faculty position in the Medical Laboratory Science program. The role requires ASCP certification and expertise in microbiology to teach within the NAACLS accredited program.
ResponsibilitiesThis position includes in‑person classroom and laboratory instruction to graduate MLS students at Loyola University Chicago's Maywood campus.
- Design and deliver course material providing entry‑level laboratory competency.
- Teach MLS students in courses as assigned, including didactic and laboratory sessions, during weekday and weekend daytime hours.
- Lead student laboratory activity setup for Microbiology and Blood Banking.
- Contribute to continuous programmatic improvement through curriculum feedback.
- Master’s degree or higher in a related field.
- Current MLS CM certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience and practice in medical laboratory science.
- One year of medical laboratory science education in the last five years.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a team.
- Strong oral, written, visual, and electronic communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal and conflict‑management skills.
- Ability to educate students in laboratory and classroom settings.
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with learning management systems.
- Commitment to a diverse learning community.
