Salary Range: $58,000 - $61,000

Duties and Responsibilities

The College of Arts and Sciences Division of Humanities and Social Sciences invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in Spanish language and Latino/Latin American Studies. The position will join a small and collaborative department that offers a range of language- and culture-based courses and an eight-week study abroad program in Cuenca, Ecuador, and will contribute to the Humanities Division by teaching a general education history class (Themes in Global History) and occasional interdisciplinary courses related to Latin America within the candidate’s specialty (in English).

The professor will teach six courses (24 semester-hours) per academic year.

Required:

  • A Ph.D. in a field of Spanish language, literature, cultural studies, or equivalent is required at the time of appointment.
  • Be a native or near-native speaker of Spanish and have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and academic scholarship.
  • Possess a clear understanding and personal commitment to North Park University’s mission of Christian higher education.
