Position Profile
:
- Direct UK teaching experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years AL/IGCSE/AP teaching experience in the relevant area
- Ability to teach high achieving students
- Degree in area of expertise for teaching
- Teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent)
- Management experience to apply for the position of Head of Subject
- Computer Science
Specific Responsibilities of Teaching Position:
- To plan and deliver lessons according to Scheme of Work using a variety of learning activities
- To create and conduct assessments according to departmental schemes of assessment and produce reports which meet the required standards in a timely fashion
- To regularly assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and design appropriate evaluations to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement
- To collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, sharing best practices and resources

Brief Description of SCIE:
UK curriculum high school (Cambridge International AS/AL & IGCSE) teaching through the medium of English to mainly Chinese students preparing for overseas universities.
We also run an AP stream since 2025, hence there are some opportunities for teachers interested in AP teaching in various subjects.

Subject Department Introduction:
The Computer Science department is made up of a group of passionate and knowledge professionals. Teachers have a variety of classes from IGCSE Computer Science in UK Years 10 and 11 and AS/AL Computer Science in UK Years 12 and 13. Computer Science has recently been a popular and growing subject throughout the school and results are high, with over 90% achieving A/A
* at IGCSE and nearly two thirds at A-Level. Many SCIE students are highly enthusiastic about coding, and there are several extra-curricular groups with their own computing projects and interests. Each year several students choose to apply to Computer Science courses in top universities in the UK and US.
We are looking for computer science teachers with experience of IGCSE and A-Level and/or AP, and strong coding skills (especially Java and Python) to join the team. Knowledge of 3D modelling, 3D printing, Robotics, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and the associated languages and applications involved will be an added advantage, as will experience teaching computer science at the highest levels, with particular focus on the ability to facilitate extension classes in Computer Science.
