Kennedy King College is currently seeking a part-time Faculty to teach Cyber Security. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in the classroom by developing and using effective teaching strategies that meet students’ diverse needs and engage students in critical thinking and problem-solving.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Design courses to meet learning outcomes and promote students’ active participation.
- Create an effective learning environment that fosters intellectual curiosity and helps students problem-solve using discipline-specific thinking strategies.
- Employ various assessments to ensure instruction leads to student learning and achievement of course outcomes.
- Support students in reaching academic, personal, and career goals while fostering a respectful, inclusive environment.
- Contribute to and lead in students’ academic and professional communities, promoting collaboration and teamwork.
Skills and Abilities
- Instructing, Speaking, Writing, Active Listening, Learning Strategies, Active Learning, Critical Thinking, Monitoring, Complex Problem Solving, Written and Oral Comprehension and Expression.
- Master’s Degree in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science;
Ph.D. preferred. - Knowledge of Brightspace preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and experience with diverse student populations.
- Upload official or unofficial transcripts (foreign transcripts evaluated .org).
- Upload resume or CV, cover letter.
- Official transcripts required upon hiring.
The salary per contact hour varies based on education level: master's @ $800, master's +30 @ $837, Ph.D. @ $943. Salary offers depend on collective bargaining agreements and applicant qualifications.
