Part-time Faculty Positions

DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part-Time Faculty to teach courses across various disciplines in all 10 colleges and schools. Interested individuals can submit their credentials to any relevant posting. The pool is ongoing, depending on curricular needs and funding, and remains until the specified closing date. Resubmission is required for continued interest beyond that date.

All pool members will be notified via email when postings close.

College/School: Chicago, IL - Jarvis College of Computing & Digital Media

DePaul's Jarvis College of Computing & Digital Media (CDM) is located in Chicago's Loop. CDM values diversity in recruiting faculty. Part-time positions are available throughout the year, including summer sessions. Course schedules vary quarterly, and the college will coordinate with selected individuals to determine schedules. Courses are not guaranteed, but notice will be provided. Applicants with relevant expertise will be contacted for interviews.

The School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Film and Television, Animation, Creative Producing, Documentary, and Screenwriting at the Loop campus and DePaul Cinespace Studios. More information is available at DePaul SCA.

- Master's degree in the discipline, or 18 semester/27 quarter hours of graduate work, or an undergraduate degree with at least five years of relevant professional experience. Exceptions may be approved by the dean.

- Demonstrated experience in teaching in diverse learning environments.

The DePaul Animation Program, part of the School of Cinematic Arts, offers studies in hand-drawn animation (TVPaint and Harmony), Maya, game art, motion graphics, experimental animation, technical art, and stop motion animation. Over 250 students are enrolled in our MFA, MA, BFA, and BA degrees. Our faculty have worked for studios such as Walt Disney Animation Studios, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and others.

Exceptions to standard rates may apply for courses with unique credit hours, labs, clinical/practicum courses, coaching, administrative tasks, or courses with enrollment variations.

Salary ranges from $4,700 to $6,000 per course, depending on qualifications and experience. DePaul offers various benefits for part-time employees, details at DePaul Benefits.

DePaul operates on a quarter system (Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer). The College of Law uses a semester system. Course lengths vary from 5 to 16 weeks.

The anticipated rate is between $4,700 and $6,000 per course, based on qualifications.
