Position: Supervisor, Evening Circulation (On-site)
The Highlights:

As a member of the Access Services team, the Evening Circulation Supervisor facilitates access to library materials for DePaul students and other users of the John T. Richardson Library in Lincoln Park. The role includes supervising student workers primarily during evenings and weekends. The position promotes a supportive, collegial culture emphasizing skills training, professional development, and engagement with the library's mission, including its goals on inclusion, diversity, equity, and access.

What

You'll Do:

Facilitate access to library materials: Circulate items, manage charges and discharges, update records in Alma, and support related access services like course reserves and interlibrary loan.

Provide high-quality, equitable service: Assist users face-to-face, over the phone, and via email/IM, helping navigate the catalog, explaining policies, and troubleshooting circulation issues.

Supervise and mentor student workers: Coordinate work schedules, supervise on duty, train, recruit, interview, and evaluate student assistants.

Contribute to department operations: Review policies, maintain records, suggest improvements, and serve on library committees to support strategic priorities.

Supervise at the Access Services Desk: Assign tasks, oversee daily operations, and assist in hiring and performance evaluations.

What You'll Need:

Associate degree required;
Bachelor's degree or Library Technical Assistant certification preferred.

Experience in customer service required; library experience and supervisory experience preferred.

Proficiency in basic computer skills required; familiarity with Alma or similar systems preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively across diverse cultures and foster an inclusive environment.

This full-time position is 35 hours/week, with evening and weekend hours required.

Location:

John T. Richardson Library, Lincoln Park, with occasional travel to the Loop campus.

Additional Details:

The hourly salary range is $23.45 - $23.68, dependent on experience and education. Benefits include health coverage, retirement contributions, tuition waivers, paid time off, and more.
