Position Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail‑oriented Woodshop Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of our woodworking studio. The ideal candidate will ensure the shop runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently, supporting students, artists, and staff in their creative and technical work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and organized woodshop environment in accordance with best practices and safety standards.
  • Oversee maintenance, repair, and calibration of tools and equipment.
  • Provide in‑the‑moment problem‑solving and technical guidance for woodworking projects.
  • Track, manage, and order inventory of tools, materials, and consumables.
  • Develop and enforce shop safety protocols and procedures.
  • Support or lead workshops, demonstrations, or orientations on tool use and safety (teaching experience a plus).
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of woodshop best practices, safety standards, and tool maintenance.
  • Proven experience in woodworking, fabrication, or related technical fields.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve challenges in project fabrication.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Degree in Sculpture, Architecture, Designed Objects, or related field required; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Teaching or educational experience preferred.

Compensation: $20 per hour coordinator, $33 per hour teaching
