About the AUSL Teacher ResidencyThe AUSL Teacher Residency is a nationally recognized, one-year teacher preparation program that helps career changers and recent graduates become highly effective teachers in North Chicago, Round Lake, Waukegan, and Chicago Public Schools. Since 2003, AUSL Teacher Residency has prepared 1,549 resident teachers through a proven cohort model, graduate‑level coursework, and in‑classroom experience alongside mentor teachers.

- Additional grants such as the TEACH Grant, MTI Scholarship, and Segal Award are available to reduce your program cost.
- Resident teachers may qualify for partial tuition cost forgiveness through FAFSA Loan Forgiveness depending on your chosen content area.
