Position Summary

The Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of educational programs within the preschool. This role involves creating instructional materials, lesson plans, and classroom schedules to enhance the learning experience for young children. The Curriculum Coordinator provides direct training and professional development to teachers, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to deliver high-quality instruction. Additionally, the position involves supporting childhood development initiatives for school readiness, conducting student assessments, and offering resources to parents and families both on-site and off-site.

Job Duties
  • Develop instructional material
  • Provides curriculum training and development in the classroom
  • Develop lesson plans and daily/monthly classroom schedules
  • Provide childhood development for school readiness, provide resources for parents/students both on-site and off-site (student screening, assessments, and classroom observation)
  • Provides guidance to teachers to enhance the educational experience for students and families
  • Manage/organize inventory – supply ordering, food, and needed items for operation
  • Coordinate and assist in event planning
  • Directly supports the Preschool Director in staff hiring and training needs
  • Directly supports the Preschool Director in new student registration/orientation
  • Directly supports the Preschool Director in providing constructive feedback and support to teachers, fostering continuous improvement in classroom practices and services
  • Support positive interactions between staff and children, promoting a nurturing and inclusive environment
  • Substitute teach when needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Experience in teaching, creating curriculum, classroom management, knowledge of current SC education standards.
  • CPR Certification (must be obtained within first 60 days of employment)
  • Must be able to exert up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects when needed.
  • Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work; must be able to remain on feet for extended periods of time.
