IPELC - Whipple (3023 West Montrose) | 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
IPELC - Sacramento (3000 West Montrose) | 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
IPELC is looking for passionate Assistant Teachers to join our program. Hours offered for this position from Monday through Friday will be specified upon the interview process.
This position may require flexibility in shifting tasks throughout the day, and exposure to all classroom ages on a changing basis.
Teachers must live within a 5 mile radius of our locations, and/or have a reliable transportation method. English fluency at an advanced level is required, and bilingual speakers are welcomed (Spanish preferred).
All IPELC positions require the following:- Professionalism exhibited through punctual and consistent attendance
- Adaptability and Flexibility in a day to day routine
- Patient and loving approach with all students.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with staff and parents in a professional and personable manner.
- Facilitates comfortable, safe, and engaging classroom environments for all students.
- Professional and neat appearance in adherence to company policy
- Expert fluency in English on a reading, writing, and speaking level.
- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent
- First Aid & CPR certified or willing to obtain certification.
- Food Handler certification or willingness to obtain.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, jump, dance, walk, run, reach carry, lift 50 lbs.
- Provide toileting and diapering assistance to children in adherence to state standards.
- Consistently maintains cleanliness and order of the classroom environment. This includes but is not limited to mopping, sweeping, dusting, laundry, and trash removal.
- Send messages, photos, and updates to parents through the app for each attending student in the assigned classroom.
- Ability to redirect students and promote self-regulation in a kind and considerate manner.
- Uphold mandated uniform expectations.
- Uphold and maintain classroom, position, and behavioral standards in adherence to DCFS and company policy.
- Consistent in punctuality and attendance.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to support Lead Teachers in behavioral and academic processes within the classroom.
- Additional responsibilities as instructed by supervisor.
