The Art School within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in various disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Interested individuals can submit their credentials to any relevant posting. Postings are organized by college/school and department, and the screening process is ongoing based on curricular needs and funding.
Selected candidates will be contacted if they reach the finalist stage for specific courses. The pool remains active until the specified closing date; resubmission is required to stay in the pool beyond that period. All applicants will be notified via email when postings close.

ResponsibilitiesThe Art School is seeking part-time faculty for Spring 2024. Opportunities vary each quarter, and applicants with matching expertise will be contacted for interviews. The School will coordinate schedules with selected individuals. Courses are not guaranteed, but notice will be given regarding class availability or cancellations. The faculty and staff promote inclusion and diversity, fostering a respectful and equitable environment.
Required Qualifications- A cover letter indicating teaching experience and interests
- A current CV, MFA in Art or a related field
- At least 2 years of teaching experience, including possible instructor of record roles during graduate studies
- Experience teaching at a university or liberal arts college is preferred
- Examples of artwork and student work (e.g., website)
- List of three professional references
- Two syllabi samples with student evaluations
Applicants must have flexible schedules to accommodate quarterly course timings, which meet twice a week for 2 hours and 45 minutes each, on M/W or TU/TH.

Compensation and BenefitsSalary ranges from $4,500 to $5,600 per course, based on qualifications and experience. DePaul offers various benefits for part-time employees; more information is available at this link.
Academic CalendarDePaul operates on a quarter system (Autumn, Winter, Spring) with 11-week classes, and a semester system (except College of Law). Summer courses are typically 5 weeks (quarters) or 7 weeks (semester).
