At O-School, we provide extraordinary educational and therapeutic services to students aged 8-22, many of whom face emotional disabilities or are on the autism spectrum. As a One-to-One Aide, you’ll support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in a nurturing, child-centered environment.

Work-Life Balance

Enjoy a Monday-Friday schedule (8:15 am - 4:30 pm) with a shortened academic day in the summer and time off in July and August.

• Providing individualized support to students with emotional disabilities and/or autism
• Supporting Instruction:
  Assist with lesson plans under the guidance of the Special Education teacher, adjusting strategies to meet the student’s needs
• Promoting Engagement:
  Help create a positive, engaging classroom environment that encourages social interaction
• Tracking Progress:
  Monitor and maintain records to support students’ IEPs, ensuring accurate documentation
• Collaboration:
  
  Work closely with the teaching team, clinicians, and administrators to support students’ academic and emotional progress

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in education, psychology, counseling, or a related field)
• Fluency in Ukrainian (required)
• Illinois State Certification, Type 39 (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
• Experience working with students with Emotional Disabilities and/or Autism (preferred)
• Strong commitment to empowering students and families
• Flexibility and a passion for innovative approaches to education

• Mental:
  Ability to plan and implement lesson plans for students with emotional challenges, manage behaviors, and develop clear, accurate reports
• Physical:
  Ability to lift at least 20 pounds and occasionally move light items. Must be able to supervise students inside and outside the classroom
