Overview
The Lycée Français de Chicago provides its students with a rigorous bilingual education in a dynamic and welcoming multicultural community. First founded in 1995 by a small group of French and American families, the Lycée began as an international school of fewer than 150 students.
Over twenty-five years later, our community has grown dramatically to over 760 students, attracting families from around the world who share the value of an academically challenging and culturally diverse education.
The Lycée Français de Chicago is looking for substitute teachers to lead classes on a punctual basis from pre-K through 5th grade, including classes such as art, music, and physical education.
Requirements- Native or near-native English and/or French speaker
- Experience teaching in primary school, or working with primary school children
- Teaching degree preferable
- Experience as a substitute teacher a plus
- Availability at short notice helpful (when possible assignments will be given in advance)
- Organization, proactivity and initiative, kindness, patience
- Capacity to work with a team and to integrate a new class/level quickly
- Computer skills necessary
- Follow lesson plans written by teachers + follow-up with a communication to teachers after
- Supervision during transitions and recess
- Preparation of work documents possible
- Cleaning and tidying up classrooms as needed
- There are no benefits associated with this part-time, punctual role.
- All employees must pass a background check.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this part-time, punctual role.
- $130 for a full day of substitute teaching and $110 for a full day of substitute assistant teaching
