Responsible for creating and implementing engaging and educational activities for school-age children during before/after school hours. This role involves developing age-appropriate lesson plans, fostering a positive and safe environment, and promoting the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of each child.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee classroom management practices and provide coaching to school-age worker.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that align with educational standards and program goals.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and materials to engage students and foster a love of learning.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of individual students.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and respect.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
- Address and resolve behavioral issues in a timely and constructive manner.
- Assess students’ academic and developmental progress through observations and other evaluation methods.
- Provide regular feedback to students and parents regarding progress and areas for improvement.
- Identify students who may need additional support and work with program coordinators and parents to develop intervention plans.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication and involvement in program activities.
