Substitute Teacher - Secondary School

The Lycée Français de Chicago is looking for substitute teachers to lead classes on a punctual basis from 6th through 12th grade, including classes such as history, math, science, art, languages, music, and physical education.

• Experience teaching in school
• Teaching degree preferable
• Experience as a substitute teacher a plus
• Availability at short notice helpful (when possible assignments will be given in advance)
• Organization, proactivity and initiative
• Capacity to work with a team and to integrate a new class/level quickly
• Computer skills necessary
• Knowledge of French helpful

• Follow lesson plans prepared by teachers
• Update teachers on class progress
• Supervision during transitions and recess
• Preparation of work documents possible

• There are no benefits associated with this part-time, punctual position
• All employees must pass a background check.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this part-time, punctual role.
• Pay is $30 per period
