Noble’s mission is to ensure that all students have equitable and positive school experiences that equip them to complete college and lead choice-filled lives. Noble serves more than 12,000 students and 23,000 alumni across 17 open-enrollment, free, public charter schools in Chicago. We are proud to be recognized nationally for college access and persistence. 98% of our graduates are accepted into college and the graduating Class of 2023 earned over $632 million in college scholarships.

At Noble “antiracism” isn’t a buzzword. We have made significant policy and structural changes to demonstrate our commitment to anti‑racism and fighting the systemic inequities in the communities we serve. These changes include building curricula that welcomes and affirms each student’s unique identity, and ensuring that all our community members—students, families, and staff—have the space to be their authentic selves, ensuring that their voices are heard.

Join Noble in supporting the growth of our students, staff and communities!

Clear, Consistent and Connected

All staff at Noble are bound by three key principles that shape a strong and positive campus culture at Noble.

Clear, Setting Clear Expectations

Students, like all individuals, flourish when they have a clear understanding of boundaries and expectations. All Noble Schools staff should prepare and explain academic and behavioral expectations using easy‑to‑understand procedures, routines, and "what to do" directions in all spaces.

Consistent, Maintaining Consistency in Responses

Students experience a spectrum of emotions. While all emotions are valid, not all behaviors are productive. Consistency in how these behaviors are addressed helps to ensure fairness and provides students with the security of knowing that our campuses operate with a sense of justice and equity.

Connected, Building Positive Relationships

Students, like all individuals, thrive when they feel a communal connection to their school and can rely on meaningful relationships with the adults at the school. All Noble staff prioritize positive interactions and relationships rooted in the humanity and belonging of each student.

Position Overview

The Culture Specialist will be supervised by and work with the AP/Dean of Culture to promote the key principles that shape a strong and positive campus culture at Noble.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the community expectations per the student handbook and school’s culture vision in all areas of the school community (i.e., the learning environment and common spaces: hallways, lunch spaces, restrooms, entrance, etc.).
  • Ensure the safety and security of the building on campus by working in tandem with relevant stakeholders to develop interventions for students who struggle to adhere to the school’s culture vision.
  • In collaboration with the Dean of Culture, create and maintain systems and procedures for all school‑wide systems that directly impact culture (i.e., Weekly Reflections, Quarterly Discipline Classes, hallway transitions, lunch/bathroom, arrival/dismissal, extracurricular activities, classroom removals, re‑entry, character development programming).
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders (students, families, and staff) and create logs for all student infractions, interventions, conferences, and relevant communications using Power School.
  • In collaboration with the Dean of Culture, teachers and other staff, regularly review student behavioral data, identify opportunities to improve, and respond accordingly – continuously developing and executing systems, procedures, and plans to yield positive academic growth and increase positive and productive student behavior.
Ideal Qualifications
  • A deep‑rooted passion for Noble’s mission and Noble’s Anti‑Racism Commitment.
  • Team player that is consistent, reliable, responsible, and embodies Noble’s core values of results, respect, follow‑through, diversity, equity & inclusion, humility and self‑awareness.
