Job Overview
The primary function of this position is to serve as a recess coach, supporting one classroom in each of our K‑2, 3‑5, and 6‑8 grade bands during their lunch and recess periods. Secondarily, the 2‑3 PM time slot will include assisting with supervision in our primary grades essentials classes.
Key Responsibilities- Coach, mentor, and encourage students during lunch and recess periods when they engage in free play.
- Take an asset‑based approach with students, seeing the positives in them.
- Actively support students with problem‑solving.
- Facilitate positive social interactions between students and help develop their social skills.
- Establish and maintain boundaries and clear procedures so that students can be safe.
- Respond quickly and calmly towards any incidents or emergencies that arise.
- Work in tandem with colleagues also supporting students in lunch/recess periods.
- Ensure all students feel included and supported.
- Report any incidents in a timely manner.
- Participate in occasional professional development to increase skills and effectiveness for performing the above duties.
- Seek and implement suggested feedback to better perform duties.
- Communicate with teachers and staff regularly and interact with families and the community.
- Daily availability while children are at school, and/or love working with students during a fun time of their day.

Physical RequirementsMedium Work:
Exerting twenty (20) to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally, or ten (10) to fifteen (15) pounds of force frequently, or greater than negligible up to ten (10) pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those for Light Work.
