- Professional: $60,000
- Advanced: $70,000
- Exemplary: $80,000
- + $3,000 signing bonus

The High School English Teacher at Kairos Academies is a mission-driven educator who brings English and Language Arts to life through rigorous, student-centered learning. Core ResponsibilitiesInstructional Excellence
- Design and implement engaging, standards-aligned lessons in English language arts that build critical thinking skills.
- Create and facilitate project-based units and performance tasks that promote inquiry and engagement.
- Use data from EOC, NWEA, MAP, and internal assessments to differentiate instruction and close achievement gaps.
- Maintain accurate, timely grade books and provide frequent, actionable feedback on written and verbal analysis.
- Integrate technology, discussion-based learning, and primary sources to promote critical thinking and student ownership.
Student Relationships & Mentorship
- Serve as a Kairos Coach, mentoring a pod of students weekly to build executive functioning, goal-setting, and personal accountability.
- Foster a classroom environment that promotes inclusion, curiosity, and civic discourse.
- Communicate proactively with families about student progress, successes, and growth areas.
Collaboration & Professional Growth
- Partner with content team members to align curriculum, assessments, and best practices across grades.
- Participate in coaching cycles, team meetings, and professional development aligned with Kairos’ learning model.
- Share instructional strategies and contribute to a positive, solutions-oriented team culture.
Whole-School Service & Leadership
- Serve in a whole-school service role (e.g., Civic Engagement Lead, Equity Lead, Tutoring Lead), contributing to school wide academic and cultural initiatives.
- Support restorative practices, positive behavior systems, and SEL frameworks.
- Contribute to school events, community initiatives, and improvement efforts.
- EOC Proficiency
: 60% of students meet or exceed ELA EOC proficiency benchmarks. - NWEA Growth
: 70% of students demonstrate expected or above-expected growth. - Mentoring Participation: 75% of students meet coaching engagement and reflection benchmarks.
- On-Track Gradient Learning Classes: 85% of students maintain on-track progress in ELA coursework.

- Evidence of rigorous, engaging instruction aligned with Missouri Learning Standards and Kairos’ Graduate Profile.
- Consistent use of data to inform instruction, reteaching, and enrichment.
- Classroom culture characterized by respect, critical discourse, and student ownership of learning.
- Growth in student independence as measured by coaching data and student feedback.
- Active contribution to team planning, problem-solving, and school wide improvement efforts.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Proven success increasing student achievement in secondary English Language Arts.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate (English Language Arts 9-12) or eligibility to obtain upon hire.
- Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field.
- Experience with AP instruction, project-based learning, personalized instruction, or executive-function coaching.
