Rate: $43–$48/hr DOE
Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 (paid out after 30 days)
Position OverviewWe are seeking a qualified and passionate Special Education Teacher with a valid LBS1 endorsement to provide high-quality services to students in grades K–12. This role is under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator and involves collaboration with general education staff to support student success through individualized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students’ IEPs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student planning
- Provide academic and behavioral support
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid Illinois teaching certificate as required by state/district regulations
- LBS1 Endorsement is required
- At least one year of teaching experience (preferred)
- Preferred
Certifications: - Standard Elementary Teaching
- Standard Secondary Teaching
- Standard Special Teaching
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB Questionnaire, PPD test, or chest x-ray (if applicable)
- Current health certificate (as required by contract or state)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
