Extended Day Coordinator, Cubs Baseball Summer Camps
Chicago Cubs Baseball Camps deliver summer baseball experiences that kids can’t get at any other summer camp. Designed for ages 5-13, At Cubs Camps, young fans learn the game, celebrate Cubs traditions, and feel the magic of being part of the Chicago Cubs family. Each day blends baseball joy, Big League moments, and unforgettable memories - all designed with intention. Campers build confidence, form friendships, and get exclusive access to the energy, history, and culture of the Cubs.
As the Extended Day Coordinator
, you lead the afternoon extended-day experience and serve as a key member of the site leadership team. You ensure aftercare programming runs smoothly and consistently while extending the quality, energy, and care of the core camp day.
You partner closely with site leadership to support staff, maintain continuity, and ensure campers and families enjoy a positive, engaging aftercare experience.
- Schedule Monday-Friday 10 am-5 pm
- Time Commitment Available for pre-camp training and all weeks of programming
- Compensation $17 / hour
- Required Certification In-person/hybrid Adult and Pediatric First Aid & CPR Certification, or the ability to complete these prior to May 30.

- Please note Camp locations may change weekly. All staff must have reliable transportation to get to site each day.

- Campers and staff of all backgrounds and gender identities are welcome at camp.
- We are a phone-free and nut-free working environment.
- Serve as a key member of the site leadership team, leading the extended-day experience and supporting continuity of the camp day
- Lead fun, engaging, and age-appropriate aftercare activities while creating a structured, positive environment where campers feel safe, supported, and excited to stay engaged
- Partner with the Site Director to staff, schedule, and support extended-day programming and small-group lessons, ensuring coaches are prepared and following the provided lessons curriculum and plans
- Collaborate with the Safety & Operations Coordinator to support equipment setup, materials readiness, and space preparation for aftercare
- Monitor and maintain extended-day materials and equipment throughout the summer, supporting storage, lock-up, and end-of-day organization
- Oversee camper check-out procedures and ensure safe, accurate dismissal
- Communicate clearly and professionally with families during extended-day interactions, helping them feel confident in their camper’s experience
- Communicate regularly with Headquarters regarding extended-day updates and provide an end-of-day all-clear when programming concludes
- Follow all camp safety protocols and actively support camper wellbeing
- Represent the Chicago Cubs and Headfirst with professionalism, energy, and care while on site and in uniform
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support a smooth, high-quality camp experience
- At least 20 years old with two years of undergraduate coursework or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working with children in a camp, school, or youth sport program.
- Comfortable supporting and guiding other staff members.
- Organized, dependable, and confident managing schedules and transitions.
- Calm, clear communicator with families and teammates.
- Possess or able to obtain valid CPR/First Aid Certification prior to the start of camp.
- Enthusiastic about delivering top-quality programming and brand presentation, making a positive impact on the lives of children, families, and coaches.
- Ability to remain standing for extended periods, walk or run quickly across large outdoor fields, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of sports equipment.
- Committed to adhering to the Cubs Summer Camp Cell-Phone Free policy, powering down and putting away cell phones for the duration of your shift.
