Pay Range: $16.20 - $19.26 per hour

SummaryThe Teacher Aide is a member of the teaching team who assists with the implementation of classroom activities, under the direct supervision of an Assistant Teacher, Teacher, or Lead Teacher. Teacher aides perform daily routine tasks that establish the basic foundation for a healthy, safe, and educational environment. Teacher Aides include student teachers, work/study students, summer work students, senior workers, and volunteers.
Accountability:
The Teacher Aide reports to the Lead Teacher. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
- Warm, supportive attitude toward children and reliable
- HS Diploma or GED
- Flexible in receiving assignments or adapting to changes in the program.
- Willing to accept supervision in order to improve performance.
- Must be willing to perform other duties as required.
- Students, youth and teacher aides may assist in the care of children provided that they:
- Must be physically able to perform the job of an early childhood teacher (e.g. able to lift children and/or equipment up to 40lbs; able to stoop, bend, sit and stand for extended periods of time).
Greets parents at pick up and drop off times
Supports a variety of ways that families can participate in the program.
