Currently hiring a full-time English/ESL Endorsed Teacher to work at Chicago Math and Science Academy 7212 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60626. The purpose of the Bilingual Teacher is to provide academic instructional support to English Learners. She/He will develop and deliver lesson plans to groups and individual students utilizing academic development language standards.

• Instructs English Learners for the purpose of improving their success in academics and skills
• Develops lesson plans and delivers group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines
• Adapts classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans
• Obtains training for and assists with the administration of language assessments for the purpose of evaluating student language proficiency (MODEL and/or W-APT and screenings, ACCESS test)
• Maintains organized records of documentation regarding student achievement in core courses
• Collaborates with English Learners coordinator and other staff to support students experiencing academic performance challenges related to English language learning
• Interprets student performance data and implements appropriate support structures
• Communicates and confers effectively both orally and in written form with students, parents, colleagues, and administration
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

• Valid Illinois teaching certification PEL
• ESL certification k-12
• ELA endorsement 6-12
• Bachelor's degree
• Ability to make technically correct translations from English to Spanish and Spanish to English with speed and accuracy
• Knowledge of evidence-based language acquisition strategies

• Starting Salary: $52,000 for gen ed teachers, $54,000 for SPED teachers
• Education:
  
  Plus $1,000 for master’s degree, $2,000 for doctorate degree.

  Plus $1,000/yr up to 10 years. (K-12 prof teaching)
• Additional discretionary $2,000 available for hard-to-fill positions:
  Math, Science, Technology, SPED, Spanish, ESL/Bilingual Education, Dual Credit
