At O‑School, we provide extraordinary educational and therapeutic services to students aged 8‑22, many of whom face emotional disabilities or are on the autism spectrum. As a One-to-One Aide, you'll have the opportunity to support students' academic and social‑emotional growth in a nurturing, child‑centered environment.

Enjoy a Monday‑Friday schedule (8:30 am – 4:30 pm) with a shortened academic day in summer and time off in July and August.
ResponsibilitiesYour primary role is to provide individualized support to students with emotional disabilities and/or autism.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting Instruction: Assist with lesson plans under the guidance of the Special Education teacher, adjusting strategies to meet the student's needs.
- Promoting Engagement: Help create a positive, engaging, and self‑motivating classroom environment that encourages social interaction.
- Tracking Progress: Monitor and maintain records to support students' IEPs, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the teaching team, clinicians, and administrators to support students' academic and emotional progress.
- Bachelor's degree required (preferably in education, psychology, counseling, or related field).
- Illinois State Certification, Type 39 (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
- Experience working with students with emotional disabilities and/or autism (preferred).
- Strong commitment to empowering students and families.
- Flexibility and a passion for innovative approaches to education.
- Mental: Ability to plan and implement lesson plans for students with emotional challenges, manage behaviors, and develop clear, accurate reports.
- Physical: Ability to lift at least 20 pounds and occasionally move light items. Must be able to supervise students inside and outside the classroom.
