Dominican University invites applications for an adjunct faculty member in mathematics. Responsibilities include teaching Mathematical Concepts for Clinical Science course and holding one office hour each week. The start date for the position is January 2, 2026. Adjunct Faculty appointments are per semester and contingent upon enrollment.

Course

MATH 175 – Mathematical Concepts in Clinical Science: A survey of mathematical concepts in clinical science including the use of proportions in unit conversions and dosage calculations, acid-base balance, pharmacokinetics, and diagnostic tests.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Chemistry, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching mathematics and/or chemistry courses.
Responsibilities

Adjunct faculty are responsible for the following:

  • Adhering to the university policies, procedures, and university calendar with respect to reporting information to university offices.
  • Administering student evaluation and timely and accurately submitting the required paperwork related to instruction, including grades and course evaluations.
  • Grading weekly assignments, responding to student emails and phone calls promptly, and providing feedback in a timely manner.
  • Preparing course materials, including writing test questions and delivering assignments appropriate to the subject matter.
  • Meeting with students and hosting office hours.
  • Adhering to the goals and objectives of the course, as guided by the Department Chair.
