Instructor - Full-Time Temporary Faculty for Medical Lab Science

We are inviting applications for a Spring 2025 full‑time faculty position appointed in Loyola University Chicago’s Applied Health Sciences’ Medical Laboratory Science program. The position requires American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification and expertise in Microbiology and is taught within the NAACLS accredited program.

Location:

Maywood – Health Sciences Campus, Loyola University Chicago, Illinois.
Job Type: Full‑Time, FLSA Exempt.

• Design and deliver course material to develop entry‑level laboratory competency.
• Teach MLS students (including didactic and laboratory sessions) in assigned courses during weekday and weekend daytime hours.
• Lead in student laboratory activity set‑up for Microbiology and Blood Banking.
• Contribute to continuous programmatic improvement through curriculum feedback.

• Master’s degree or higher.
• Current MLS CM certification.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience and practice in medical laboratory science.
• One year of medical laboratory science education experience within the last five years.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a team.

• Strong oral, written, visual, and electronic communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and interact positively with diverse faculty, staff, and students, and people of varying economic and cultural backgrounds.
• Effective interpersonal and conflict‑management skills.
• Ability to educate students in laboratory and classroom settings.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with learning management systems.

Salary Range: $27,500 – $30,000 (one‑semester appointment; amount determined by experience, qualifications, and market pay).
