- To plan and deliver lessons according to Scheme of Work using a variety of learning activities.
- To create and conduct assessments according to departmental schemes of assessment and produce reports which meet the required standards in a timely fashion
- To regularly assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and design appropriate evaluations to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.
- To collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, sharing best practices and resources.

UK curriculum high school (Cambridge International AS/AL & IGCSE) teaching through the medium of English to mainly Chinese students preparing for overseas universities.
We also run an AP stream since 2025, hence there are some opportunities for teachers interested in AP teaching in various subjects.

The Modern Languages Faculty comprises 5 departments and 44 teaching staff. Currently, there are 26 teachers in the English department, 10 teachers of Chinese, 2 teachers of French, 3 teachers of Japanese and 3 teachers of Spanish. The Faculty teaches Spanish and French to A-Level as well as Japanese to GCSE level. Chinese language is a core subject in the first 2 years at SCIE, and English is taught throughout the 4 years of high school study.
170 students are currently involved in Language study across the subjects of French, Spanish and Japanese. Although this number is comparatively small, forming roughly 9% of the school roll, our Language students achieve tremendous success. Awards from the 2024-25 summer examination series include:
French: ‘High Achievement’ – Cambridge International AS Level
Spanish: ‘High Achievement’ – Cambridge International AS Level
Spanish Language and Literature: ‘High Achievement’ – Cambridge International A-Level.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced French specialist to join our team. This candidate will be able to teach French to A-level. An important aspect of the job is promotion of the subject through French representation in school events such as international trips, Open Day, Faculty Week and development of community links with organisations such as ‘Alliance Francaise’.
An additional ability to teach Spanish to IGCSE level is desirable but not essential.
