Spanish Heritage Language Teacher

Job Title: Spanish Heritage Language Teacher Classification: Exempt

Reports to: Principal Schedule: Mid-Year Start

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School a Jesuit college‑preparatory Spanish Heritage co‑educational school serving students in grades 9‑12 seeks a qualified mission‑driven Spanish Heritage Language Teacher mid‑year start. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to Catholic education and a willingness to work with a diverse student body.

Responsibilities:

• Teach five sections of Spanish department subjects commensurate with experience and staffing needs.
• Develop whole‑person instruction in academics, spiritual growth, and personal development.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents to support student learning.
• Implement current instructional methodologies and technology inside and outside the classroom.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a BA degree in subject area; MA preferred.
• Illinois Professional Educator License preferred (non‑licensed applicants must become certified within five years).
• Successful teaching experience at the secondary level preferred.
• Fluent in conversational and academic Spanish.
• Strong interpersonal communication, organizational skills, and commitment to a diverse student body.
• Understanding of educational theory and practice.
• Ability to use technology inside and outside the classroom.
• Familiarity with first‑generation students preferred.
• Willingness to collaborate with others.
• Familiarity with current instructional methodologies.
• Classroom management skills.

Compensation: Commensurate with relevant teaching experience and established Faculty Compensation schedule.
