Full-time
$19.25–$25/hr
You will be responsible for preparing and implementing a full educational teaching plan according to the Center's requirements. It will be fundamental to provide knowledge and instruction to students while also helping them develop their personalities and skills. The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust.
They will know how to organize a class and make learning an easy and meaningful process. The goal is to help cultivate the students’ interest in education and be their dedicated ally in the entire process of learning and development.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Teachers are to ensure that the classroom is cleaned and sanitized at all times
- Responsible for the safety of all children
- Maintain day to day schedule and supervise all staff that is assigned to assist them
- If selected as a director designee, person will act as a coordinator in the absence of the director from the center
- Must have experience with leading a classroom, maintaining a creative and interactive classroom
- Must have flexibility with hours
- Must have strong communication skills, and must not be afraid to communicate with parents and staff
- Serve as a leader
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and sanitize daily
- Having an artistic and creative side is a plus
- Must be able to crawl and interact with children on their level
- Be compassionate to children's feelings
- Have the ability to create lesson plans and activities
- To offer a program that meets the emotional, physical, intellectual and social needs of both the individual and the group.
- To interact with the children and to encourage their involvement in activities.
- To prepare a warm and safe environment that is orderly, clean, and appealing which permits the child to grow and explore.
- To use appropriate and positive discipline and to train newcomers so that discipline is consistent
- To plan lessons based on a curriculum outline
- To provide newcomers with the opportunity to have input within the program.
- To observe, record, and report significant individual and group behavior.
- To maintain all records and files.
- To supervise, train, and evaluate co-teachers
- To establish and maintain good communications with parents through monthly newsletters, monthly theme calendars, parent/teacher conferences three times a year and on a daily informal basis.
- To keep staff informed of program goals and developments both with children, parents, and administrators.
- To attend staff orientation, staff meetings, class programs, fun day and other functions.
- To prepare material needed in the program.
- Must complete MEAL PARTICIPATION REPORTS (MPR’s). MPR’s must include AM Snack, Lunch and Supper.
- Proven experience as a teacher
- Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the center's policies and procedures

- 60 credit hours required - 6 hrs. of ECESalary is based on education and experience
