Transformer Technician II
to join our dynamic and fast-growing team. Our
Transformer Technician II
is responsible for the installation, assembly, maintenance, repair, and testing of a wide variety of transformers from different Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). For more information about RMS Energy, please

Responsibilities:
- Participate in the assembly of transformers (radiators, bushings, conservators).
- Perform degassing procedures to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Re-gasket transformers and create new gaskets/O-rings.
- Remove broken parts and prep for transportation.
- Assist with oil sampling, oil fills, and operate an oil processing rig according to established protocols (i.e., dry out procedures).
- Perform pressure testing and vacuum with a dehydrator unit.
- Complete the work orders as assigned and complete daily tasks related to the repair order.
- Safely operate industrial and construction equipment, following capacity and load limits.

- Ensure vehicles, tools, and equipment are in safe operating condition and perform necessary maintenance.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, safety guidelines, and environmental specifications for the area, especially related to spill containment.
- Support the Sales team in providing leads for potential projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 3-5 years of experience in transformer oil work, transformer testing, transformer assembly, transformer service, or transferable experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Class A CDL preferred.
- OSHA certification and a TWIC card are a plus.
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office, online tools, and basic computer skills.
- Previous experience operating electrical equipment and shop tools is a plus.
- Prior experience in degassing and oil processing is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with both internal and external customers positively and professionally.
- Knowledge or related experience in prepping units for disposal following proper environmental disposal procedures is a plus.
- Able to work independently and complete projects with minimal supervision.
- Work location varied depending on the client and project assignment.
- Must be willing to travel; minimum 80%.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests, and a pre-employment criminal background check.
- Must be able to drive daily to customer job sites and be available for periodic overnight travel.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Valid and current driver's license with a clean driving record.
