Pay Range: $41.44 – $67.44 per hour. Salaries are determined by education, job‑related experience, skills, and industry data.
SummaryThe RUSH Facilities Management department collaborates with administrators, physicians, nurses, architects, interior designers, engineers, and general contractors on facility‑based projects such as master planning, selecting properties for future expansion, designing new and remodeled spaces, negotiating & managing leases, coordinating moves, and assisting with furniture & equipment acquisition. Under the direction of the Director of Facilities Management, this position independently leads BIM initiatives and strategic planning for the Planning, Design & Construction department, coordinating complex projects across clinical, operational, and technical teams.
Responsibilities- Oversee BIM initiatives independently, prioritizing tasks and deliverables across multiple teams and projects.
- Maintain and ensure the accuracy of BIM models and AutoCAD files for internal departments and external construction service providers (e.g., Life Safety, Space Management, MEP+FP).
- Lead BIM integration on complex projects, including major facility renovations and new builds, coordinating across design, engineering, and construction teams.
- Maintain comprehensive building information databases related to BIM models, including department, room use, sprinkler zone, emergency generator, etc.
- Interpret the International Building Code (IBC) and NFPA 101 to ensure drawings are compliant.
- Create standards for automation, conversion, and standardization of all CAD/Revit drawing files.
- Coordinate facilities area data and reconcile with the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Distribute information regarding space allocation to multiple departments and committees.
- Establish, update, and maintain BIM standards and workflow for the BIM Group’s internal workflow.
- Develop, implement, and enforce BIM standards and protocols to ensure compliance with healthcare‑specific regulations.
- Collaborate with Finance to conduct yearly audits and validate accuracy of drawings and spreadsheets; utilize BIM data for analytics and reporting to support strategic decision‑making.
- Conduct field audits to validate accuracy of current BIM drawings and associated life safety & space allocation information.
- Coordinate with clinical and IT departments to ensure BIM data supports operational workflows, patient safety, and healthcare‑specific infrastructure requirements.
- Research and stay informed on best practices for the use of Revit Architecture and BIM.
- Lead internal training and train new hires & intermediate staff of the BIM and PDC departments.
- Mentor junior BIM team members, fostering growth and skill development.
- Work with PDC staff to track construction projects and ensure completion of departmental tasks (plan updates, archival research, record drawings).
- Lead digital transformation initiatives within the PDC department by implementing cutting‑edge BIM technologies and methodologies.
- Attend and participate in BIM conferences, seminars, and workshops; disseminate knowledge to the BIM group and department leaders.
- Represent RUSH’s BIM program at industry events, conferences, and user groups; stay informed on emerging technologies.
- Actively engage in BIM World groups and organizations such as Autodesk University, AUGI, BIM Storm, AIA Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP), and local user groups.
- Lead small to medium‑size design and construction projects within RUSH, including code analysis, design, and construction administration.
- Update Revit building models for new construction or renovation.
