OpportunityIn this role, you will participate in the engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems across a variety of facility types, from power generation buildings to laboratories and energy storage facilities. You will work with a team focused on delivering projects using both traditional and alternative delivery methods.
- Design and construction activities for HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Project delivery methods: traditional Design‑Bid‑Build and alternative Conceptual‑Bid‑Build.
- Facility types include power generation buildings, substations, oil & gas structures, and energy storage buildings.
- Systems: HVAC and plumbing.
- Areas: power generation hall, administrative, warehouse, maintenance, workshop, laboratory, chemical storage, electrical distribution center, low & medium voltage switch gear, pump areas, engine generators, blowers/air compressors, and flammable & combustible liquids storage.
- Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) studies.
- Energy audit/efficiency studies, code review/application, sustainable design/LEED application.
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems to meet performance and code requirements.
- Prepare detailed design drawings and specifications.
- Perform CFD and other performance analyses.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical solutions.
- Contribute to energy and sustainability studies.
- Assist in code compliance reviews.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards.
- Experience with HVAC heat loads, energy modeling, and equipment sizing.
- Experience reviewing technical and bid submittals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam Revu.
- LEED AP certification, especially for industrial buildings.
- Experience with large‑scale water‑cooled chillers.
- Familiarity with ICC, ASHRAE, ASPE, SMACNA standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
- Active engineering registration or licensure to support Engineer of Record (EOR) requirements.
- Must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (criminal check, drug screening, etc.).
Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support Engineer of Record (EOR) requirements for BV projects.
Work Environment and Schedule- Typical office environment with prolonged computer use.
- Physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping, standing/walking.
- Hybrid or flexible work options after 90 days, based on manager discretion.
