Job Title - Engineer-In-Training 2, TrafficLocation - Chicago, IL
Job Type – Onsite
We are looking for a talented and ambitious Engineer-In-Training 2 in our Chicago, IL office where you will gain meaningful experience in traffic and safety planning, studies, and design while working for local, state, national, and private clients across the country.
What You Will Be Doing:- Collaborate with and learn from experienced Professional Engineers and be mentored by industry leaders in traffic engineering
- Support traffic impact studies, traffic signal warrant studies, intersection design studies, safety studies, bicycle planning, and technical report writing
- Prepare traffic signal design plans for new and modified intersections
- Develop construction sequencing, pavement marking plans, street lighting plans, signing plans, and traffic control plans
- Provide traffic engineering support to local and national practice areas
- Enjoy a diverse client base enabling you to follow your passion in engineering
- Ability to work across several states, including Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, and Florida
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- 2+ years of relevant experience in traffic engineering, transportation planning, and/or Intelligent Transportation Systems
- Illinois Engineer Intern (EI) license/certification
- Direct experience with DOT, local county, municipal, and/or developer driven transportation and traffic project preferred
- Working knowledge of SYNCHRO, HCS, SIDRA, VISTRO and other traffic capacity and analysis software
- Working knowledge of Micro Station, Open Roads, or AutoCAD
- Exposure to VISSIM, CORSIM, or other advanced software packages
We offer a hybrid schedule for eligible positions consisting of two days a week in the office, two days a week remotely, and Friday being a flexible day that can be worked either in the office or at home.
