The Senior OT Applications Engineer will be an essential part of our team to grow the consulting practice in the Operational Technology and Real‑Time Systems domain. You will be working on ADMS/DERMS Systems that spans the electric utility’s operational and information technology domains. In this role, you will be building systems that improve the efficiency of the utility’s grid operations and capture information and data in support of their business functions.
These systems will expand the utility’s Smart Grid capabilities by providing detailed insight into the operations of the electrical grid, from the generation of power to the delivery at the customer meter. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of the electrical grid, which will reduce environmental impacts through the conservation of crucial resources.
- Perform hands‑on work with ADMS DERMS modules, and ability to provide recommendations and consulting on DERMS projects.
- Contribute to project planning, ensuring all technical dependencies in the assigned work streams and overall project are accounted for.
- Collaborate with customers to understand operational needs and support planning, configuration, testing, implementation, and cutover phases for OT systems.
- Conduct system and acceptance testing with end customers to ensure functionality and compliance.
- Assist with solutioning to integrate third‑party systems effectively.
- Troubleshoot complex issues and work with technical experts across various domains to resolve challenges.
- Travel to customer sites to deliver, test, and integrate systems directly with customers.
- Ensure delivered solutions meet contractual requirements and address any gaps through scope change agreements.
- 7-10 years of experience in an Application Engineering role or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 5+ years of experience with products from major SCADA/EMS/DMS providers such as GE, OSII/Aspen Tech, ABB, Schneider Electric, Siemens, or similar.
- Proven experience supporting critical operational or information technology systems.
- Familiarity with Distribution and/or Transmission Control Center operations.
- Strong work ethic with a demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
- Technical expertise in networking, security, operating systems, virtual environments, and systems integration.
- Solid OT systems background with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across complex systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Willingness to travel, averaging 25%.
