Senior Engineer (Manufacturing) – S&C Electric Company

Key Responsibilities- Specifying, developing, and procuring production equipment by applying validation planning methodologies, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs).
- Designing efficient layouts and workstations to optimize flow of people, material, and information across the production environment.
- Leading hands‑on root‑cause analysis and problem solving for assembly‑related issues using structured four‑step problem‑solving techniques.
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive assembly process documentation for fuse products, including process flow diagrams, SOPs/work instructions, routings, and value‑stream maps.
- Supporting quality and risk management by contributing to PFMEAs, assembly control plans, inspection specifications and statistical process control (SPC) systems.
- Collaborating cross‑functionally with design, quality, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of new equipment and processes.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity within the Fuse Products Value Stream.
- Coaching and mentoring less experienced team members to build capability across the team.
- Understanding and complying with all applicable company policies and rules.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Quality Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred).
- 7–10 years of professional tenure (or Master’s degree and 5–7 years of professional tenure).
- Experience in a medium/high volume manufacturing environment for mechanical systems.
- Proven ability to procure, implement and utilize assembly tooling and equipment effectively.
- Hands‑on experience documenting assembly processes, including creating clear and accurate work instructions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage large groups and drive alignment.
- Demonstrated collaboration skills, working across multiple teams to solve complex problems.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Goal‑oriented mindset, emotional intelligence and resilience in dynamic environments.
- Ability to embrace diversity and equity to actively contribute to a respectful and inclusive workplace.

Moderate walking around the S&C campus. - Lifting:
Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 40 pounds. - Carrying:
Occasional carrying of objects up to 25 pounds. - Pushing:
Infrequent pushing of objects. - Observation/Eyesight:
Frequently required to observe details at close range including depth perception, peripheral vision and the ability to differentiate between colors. - Environment:
Standard office.
Base salary range: $113,740 – $ per year. Individual pay within this range is determined by performance, knowledge, job‑related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. The role is also eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.
