Chicago, IL – hybrid WFH (2 days WFH, 3 days onsite in the loop)

The Sr. Azure Engineer sits on a team of 10, and will focus on Cloud Engineering, with some Dev Ops, in an Azure environment. This person will specifically support data, software and AI engineering teams. You will be one of 2 Azure SMEs, and given the other SME is focused on other projects, we need this individual to come in and hit the ground running with breadth and depth of Azure Cloud Engineering expertise.

Specifically, we are seeking someone with strong experience with Hosting, Azure hub and spoke networks (NVAs, UDRs, NSGs, Express Route circuits), Azure Dev Ops, PaaS/IaaS, ARM and Bicep templates, Azure Containers Apps, Azure Kubernetes Service, etc. There is an on-call rotation, where you would need to support the on-prem infrastructure (Windows) given we are still hybrid-cloud during your on-call rotation.

• Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM and Bicep templates.
• Develop skillset across three domains (Infrastructure, Containers, and Networking) to better support the client.
• Ensure adherence to Azure security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with Dev Ops teams to support CI/CD pipelines and automation processes.
• Monitor and optimize cloud resources for performance, cost, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
• Implement and manage Azure PaaS and IaaS solution, including on-premises server, storage, and database systems, among others.
• Independently and collaboratively lead client engagement work streams focused on project, improvement, optimization, and transformation of processes.
• Communicate effectively and appropriately with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in weekly rotating 24/7 on-call support schedule with other team members.
• Other duties, as assigned.

• 8+ years of experience with Cloud Engineering
• 5+ years of recent experience with Azure Cloud Engineering specifically – the more experience with the following, the better:
  • Azure hub and spoke networks (NVAs, UDRs, NSGs, Express Route circuits)
  • Azure VMware Solution (AVS)
  • Azure Dev Ops
  • PaaS/IaaS, ARM and Bicep templates
  • Azure Containers Apps
  • Azure Kubernetes Service, etc.
  • Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework
  • Azure Well-Architected Framework

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with Azure ML
• Experience with AI/ML deployments and hosting
• Experience with Azure Security such as IAM, MFA, Cloud Access Security Broker tools
• Experience with Terraform or Ansible
