This senior leadership position oversees a team of experts specializing in evaluating and improving building envelope systems. The Managing Director will guide technical delivery, mentor staff, and shape the strategic direction of the practice. The role also involves active participation in diagnostics and capital planning efforts, representation at national industry events, and engagement with executive-level stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities- Oversee investigations into moisture intrusion, air leakage, thermal bridging, and envelope failures
- Guide forensic analysis, litigation support, and expert witness services
- Lead building science consulting for both new construction and existing buildings
- Manage field testing, monitoring, and data interpretation
- Develop and implement diagnostics and capital planning strategies
- Represent the firm at conferences, panels, and industry forums to enhance visibility and influence
- Mentor staff and contribute to strategic growth planning
- Minimum 10 years of experience in building diagnostics, building science, or envelope consulting
- Active professional licensure required: PE (Professional Engineer) or RA (Registered Architect)
- Additional certifications such as SE, RRC, RWC, BECxP, or LEED AP are a plus
- Strong technical writing and client communication skills
- Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and manage complex projects
- Willingness to travel nationally for client engagement and industry representation
- Active involvement in professional organizations such as ASHE, COAA, or similar is encouraged
- Base salary range of $180,000 to $250,000, commensurate with experience
