Broadcast Maintenance Engineer

We’re seeking a full‑time Broadcast Maintenance Engineer with strong IT skills to join our engineering team. You’ll provide daily maintenance and operational support for a large, complex broadcast facility, ensuring reliability across traditional and digital platforms.

• Maintain and troubleshoot broadcast and IT systems, including studio/control room automation, master control, ENPS newsroom, cameras, audio gear, and streaming encoders.
• Configure and troubleshoot IP networking for servers and broadcast equipment.
• Diagnose signal flow and data flow issues; interpret schematics and system drawings.
• Support remote feed technologies (Dejero, TVU, Haivision) and streaming workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering team to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

• Strong knowledge of IP networking (LAN/VLAN/WAN/VPN), Active Directory, Windows/Linux platforms.
• Familiarity with broadcast systems:
  Ross Xpression/Tessera, LED video walls, Dante audio, satellite transmission.
• Ability to use network tools (ping, trace route) and common test equipment (signal generators, scopes).
• Understanding of video compression, resolutions (e.g., 1080i) and bandwidth requirements.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work from schematics.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with newsroom and production environments.

• 5+ years as an IT technician or broadcast maintenance engineer (media facility preferred).
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline a plus.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must join IBEW Local 1220.
• Shift work required (nights, weekends, holidays) with occasional overtime.

$27.32 to $45.76 per hour – commensurate with applicant's experience and skill level
