The role:

As a senior leader in our Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team, you will oversee complex electrical VDC projects from start to finish. This role combines technical expertise, project management, and people leadership to drive client success and team growth. You'll work closely with high-level stakeholders, manage budgets and resources, and mentor a dynamic team to deliver innovative VDC solutions that exceed client expectations.

In

this role you will:
  • Lead and manage large-scale electrical VDC projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing strategic insights and identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, invoicing, and resource planning to mitigate risks and maximize efficiency.
  • Mentor, develop, and manage direct reports, fostering team growth and aligning workloads with individual strengths.
  • Collaborate with sales and leadership teams on client engagement, new opportunities, and business development.
  • Audit project models for quality and consistency, ensuring alignment with scope and contractual obligations.
  • Contribute to VIATechnik's culture by leading training initiatives and sharing best practices.
  • Undertake other similar professional duties as needed and as directed by the leadership team.
Apply if you have:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a similar discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience providing implementation, training, and support in BIM and VDC.
  • 5+ years of experience working for an electrical trade contractor.
  • Directly managed a team of VDC Managers, Engineers, and Detailers.
  • Capability to work effectively in a self-directed way within an extremely fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • A knack for managing multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • A proactive and flexible attitude; willingness to take an "all-hands-on-deck" approach.
  • Ability to work some early and/or late hours to coordinate with project teams in other countries.
Even better if you have:
  • Field construction experience.
  • Experience engaging with clients during pre-sales or bid stages to support business development.
  • Experience in organizational management and operational management.
  • Excellent relationship building skills, especially with clients and industry networks.
  • Strong understanding of estimating, value engineering, and benchmarking project performance.
  • Experience working with or managing global teams.
Compensation and featured benefits:
  • The pay for this position is $110,000 – $130,000
    , and the role is eligible for bonuses. The actual salary offer may be different as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, location, and experience
  • Health insurance with the choice of five plan options. We cover 70-95% of premiums for VIA Techies and 65% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plan chosen)
  • Dental and vision insurance. We cover up to 75% of the monthly insurance premiums for VIA Techies and up to 50% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plans chosen)
